HISTORIC PRODUCTION

The individual steps in manufacturing a pencil have hardly changed over the centuries. However, the entire production process was greatly speeded up when automation and a more logical flow were introduced. In the olde days, each pencil was produced by hand. Men and women worked in strictly segregated areas of the factory.
